Militant attacks, coming in a frontal assault and a vehicle bomb, have killed dozens of people in Pakistan.
Four gunmen attacked police buildings in Lahore, killing at least 26 people, and a car bomb set off in Kohat near another police station, resulted in more than 10 deaths, officials said. Another bombing, this in Peshawar, caused an unknown number of deaths and injuries.
Attacks in the last two weeks in Pakistan have claimed more than 100 lives, the BBC reported.
The targets in Lahore had been hit before. An assault on one building ended with several dead was the second on the same police post in 19 months. In March 2008 a suicide attack killed 21 there. Another Lahore site, a police training site, was charged at by people wearing suicide vests. That site was attacked in March 2009 with 18 people killed.
In Kohat, an explosives-laden car was rammed into a police building.
There has been no claim of responsibility but militants aligned with the Taliban are suspected.
